Donald remembers 'brother' Hansie on anniversary of death

Cape Town - Proteas great Allan Donald has taken to social media to remember former team-mate Hansie Cronje on the 17th anniversary of his death.

Donald took to Twitter on Saturday to pay his respects to Cronje who was killed in a plane crash in the Outeniqua Mountains on June 1, 2002.

Donald wrote: "Remembering you on this day you left us my brother. Will never be forgotten!!RIP"

Cronje captained South Africa at the 1996 and 1999 Cricket World Cups and played in 68 Tests and 118 ODIs for the Proteas, before receiving a life ban for match fixing in 2000.

Earlier, another former team-mate of Cronje's Pat Symcox, also took to social media to remember his former skipper.
