17th anniversary of Hansie Cronje's passing

Cape Town - Today (Saturday, June 1, 2019) marks 17 years since the passing of former Proteas captain Hansie Cronje.

Cronje captained South Africa at the 1996 and 1999 Cricket World Cups.

The all-rounder played 68 Tests and 118 ODIs for the Proteas, before receiving a life ban for match fixing in 2000.

He died in a plane crash in the Outeniqua Mountains on June 1, 2002.
