Cape Town - Hull City manager Marco Silva says moving out of the relegation zone means nothing, after an emphatic 4-2 victory over fellow league strugglers Middlesbrough.

The Tigers moved out of the bottom three, extending their excellent home form since Silva succeeded Mike Phelan as head coach in December.

With four wins and one draw in their last five games at the KCOM Stadium, Hull are now two points ahead of 18th placed Swansea City and seven ahead of the managerless Teesiders.

However, their latest result has pleased the Portuguese tactician, after conceding in the opening five minutes through an Alvaro Negredo strike, Hull fought back valiantly; with Lazar Markovic, Oumar Niasse, Abel Hernandez and Harry Maguire all finding the net.

"We started very well and strong with good intensity which caused problems for the opponents," he told BBC Sport. "The first time they attacked they scored and afterwards we reacted fantastically.

"We controlled the game and showed focus in our back line after one bad decision for the second goal. The opponents got back into game, it was not easy for our players, but we then controlled the second half and I don't remember one shot on our goal.

"When I came things were not good, the atmosphere was not the best and many people don't believe. If you don't believe, it is impossible. Today was a good day but nothing is finished today."

Silva extended his incredible record of having not lost a home league game in 40 matches with 33 of those being wins that stretches over three years.
