According to KickOff.com, former Orlando Pirates' defender Mark Fish thinks his old team will be stronger in the 2014/15 PSL season as long as coach Vladimir Vermezovic finds the best way to manage his players.
After adding Thabo Qalinge to their squad along with keeping midfielder Oupa Manyisa at the club, the new PSL season excites Fish, who thinks the 2014 Buccaneers will be a strong side.
“I think the important thing is for the coach to find the correct combinations. If he manages to achieve this then the team will do well,” Fish adds.
Fish outlined Pirate's history of being a top side and warned against ruling them out as title contenders.
Pirates open their PSL campaign when they host Moroka Swallows on August 9. The match kicks off at 20:15.
The Sea Robbers had a
disappointing league campaign in 2013/14, ending fourth on the log and a full
19 points behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Buccaneers completed the league "double" over their Soweto rivals last season, winning 1-0 at both the Dobsonville Stadium and at home in the Orlando Stadium.
