Cape Town - Two former Proteas players, Alviro Petersen and Paul Harris, are at odds with each other on Twitter over the source of and solutions for South Africa's cricket crisis, predominantly related to the country's shocking showing at the 2019 World Cup.
Speaking in the wake of the national team's confirmed elimination with two matches still to play for Faf du Plessis's team, Test/ODI opening batsman Petersen (@AlviroPetersen) said: "Remember all, it is easy to throw stones now, especially if you ... live in a glass house.
"Any former players out there who won the World Cup for SA? Cheap shots shows your immaturity and agenda-based arguments. Let's keep supporting the Proteas, the tide will turn some time."
But Harris (@paulharris12), the long-time former Test left-arm spinner, responded to Petersen's tweet with: "So if I have an opinion different to yours it means that I am immature and have an agenda? I happen to think CSA has been in massive trouble for years now. Not cheap shots, just the truth!"
Petersen had also ventured, earlier in the week: "I fundamentally disagree with anyone suggesting a complete cleanout in regard to the Proteas. @OfficialCSA must identify areas of concern and address them."
Petersen has since responded to Harris' tweet:So if I have an opinion different to yours it means that I am immature and have an agenda? I happen to think CSA has been in massive trouble for years now. Not cheap shots, just the truth!! https://t.co/4B2vkcxg8j

Harro, this is unbelievable!! Where did I mention that if you have an opinion different to mine, then you are immature? YOU WILL NEVER POINT IT OUT!! Please read my tweet properly!! Your last sentence is your opinion, whether it is true or false, you are entitled to it.

I'm not sure I did get it wrong Viri. Tweet clearly states that if a past player has a anything negative to say about the team they are taking cheap shots, showing immaturity and have an agenda.
