The Lions of the North made a swift return to the top flight as National First Division champions in 2017/18 following their relegation the previous season.
Former Pirates coach Owen Da Gama has done a tremendous job at the Makhulong Stadium as his team finished 19 points clear of the chasing pack in the NFD.
The club have added 12 new players to their ranks since being promoted, and 'Micho' admits they are a bit of an unknown entity going into the new campaign.
"Highlands Park have a respected coach in Owen Da Gama. We played friendly matches with them," the Serbian coach told reporters at the club's training ground.
"But things have changed. They signed players. We don't know what will happen, but we are motivated.
"We feel like a fish out of water during the pre-season. The PSL is our water and we are ready to swim."
