Swallows to end their own misery

Cape Town - Moroka Swallows will look to end their losing streak in the Absa Premiership when they host Free State Stars at Dobsonville Stadium.

Swallows suffered a fourth successive league defeat of 2015 when they were beaten 1-0 by Platinum Stars on Sunday.

The Soweto side has claimed eight points from 11 home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Black Aces (away), Kaizer Chiefs (home) and Chippa United (away).

The Birds are placed 15th on the Absa Premiership log with 19 points from 21 matches.

Stars suffered their first league defeat of 2015 when they were beaten 2-0 at home by Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

The Free State side has claimed six points from 11 away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are AmaZulu (away), Ajax Cape Town (home) and Polokwane City (away).

Ea Lla Koto are placed 13th on the Absa Premiership log with 22 points from as many matches.

In head-to-head stats, Swallows and Stars have met in 49 league matches since 1986.

The Birds have claimed 23 wins compared to 14 for Ea Lla Koto, while 12 matches have been drawn.

Swallows have won 10 of their 23 home matches against Stars, suffering six defeats in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season in the Free State, Ea Lla Koto claimed a thrilling 3-2 victory.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Wednesday, March 11.
