Cape Town - The South African Police Service have confirmed an unnamed PSL player was arrested in Pretoria on Sunday and had to be dragged from his vehicle.

The incident took place in Hatfield at the weekend where the perpetrator attempted to flee after being caught disobeying a traffic law.

Police eventually gave chase and managed to pull the vehicle over, only to be confronted by an unruly and uncooperative man, who refused to hand over his drivers' licence, forcing SAPS members to take him into custody.

“One of our members spotted him doing this and when he tried to stop him, he refused,” Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said after the player was charged with resisting arrest and failing to produce a drivers' license.

“We had to call for backup and chase him."

“When our members asked him to produce a driver’s license and get out the vehicle, he refused. He was angry and yelling at our members. In the end they pulled him out of the vehicle."
