Cape Town - AmaZulu coach Steve Barker has promised to field a full strength side for their Nedbank Cup clash against Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Friday evening.

Usuthu will be without Mbulelo Mabizela, who was sent off in the 3-0 loss to Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday, but Philani Shange and Kulegani Madondo (both hamstring) are likely to be named in the squad after recovering from injuries.

The hosts have only registered two wins in all competitions this season, with one of those being the come-from-behind 3-2 victory against Phunya Sele Sele in the Telkom Knockout.

Barker said shifting focus from the league to cup has been easy for his team and all they need is a deep run in this weekend's competition to help resurrect their faltering season.

"We've got to try and go into the game on Friday and win the game," he said.

"That is our first and foremost priority. We need to separate the cup from the league. Tuesday is a big game for us (against Mamelodi Sundowns) in the league but when you're not winning games, you need to get something to kick start your season.

"We need to something to happen that will give us the kick start to go forward and losing a cup game against a local rival is not what's required."

Arrows have never lost to AmaZulu in three cup outings. They only have one injury absentee as Andile Fikizolo is out with a shoulder problem.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
