Pirates went on to
secure a 2-2 draw in their CAF Confederations Cup against CF Mounana on
Sunday and due to unavailable flights the Buccaneers are only set to board a
plane this evening.
KickOff, Modisane says that despite their layover the team will be prepared for
their Absa Premiership encounter against University of Pretoria which has been
postponed till Friday.
“Look, we were meant to play against Tuks on Tuesday, 21
April but due to unavailability of return flights from Gabon the match was
moved to Friday,” Modisane.
“We’ve been in this type of situation before and it will
certainly not affect us, when Friday comes we will be ready for the match. The
team will land on Wednesday morning and from then we will prepare for Tuks.”
“Players who didn’t travel were working under development
coaches just to stay sharp and ready. I didn’t travel to Gabon but I’m sure
that the team is not sitting there doing nothing, they are also working hard.”
Pirates and AmaTuks will go head-to-head on Friday evening
with a 20:00 kick-off.
