The 22-year-old's blistering long-range strike against SuperSport United on April 29 was voted the best goal of the 2014/15 Premiership campaign, with the playmaker lifting the award at Sunday's gala, as well as pocketing R50 000.

And, with four goals from two starts to his name, Masuku is hoping to push on next term.

"I am excited to win this award. It's something that is going to push me to work more hard next season,” said Masuku as quoted by KickOff.

"It's a great feeling to play for a big team like Pirates and I am already looking forward to next season."

He continued: "I am grateful to be surrounded by such great talented players at Pirates. They keep motivating me every day when I come to training and encourage me to work hard.
