According to Santos official website, Lakay admitted that being sidelined for so long has been a struggle after he featured 35 minutes in the Peoples Team’s 2-1 loss to Witbank Spurs.
"For me it's good to be back,” said Lakay.
"You know when you are out it's not easy so now that I'm back, I'll continue to work hard to get back into the team and to bring my best performances."
"The coach is trying to bring me back slowly so as to not rush me as when you come from injury it's not easy and also because I didn't play in a long time."
Lakay added that he thought he fared well in his first game back and hopes to continue to get game time in order to wheel himself back into the starting eleven.
"I think I did okay in this game. I spoke to some of my teammates and they say I did well.
"For me it's important to talk to them because I have been out so long, just to get their opinion as they are the ones playing every week, and to start to feel a part of the team again.
"I am determined to get back to my best and as quickly as possible."
