Sport24 reported Masango along with a host of Amakhosi players were not going to renew their contract with the club.
Kaizer Motaung Snr announced a mass player exodus from Naturena, which included Itumeleng Khune, Tefu Mashamaite and Katlego Mphela.
In the same press conference, Motuang also revealed that Baxter will not remain as head coach and that the two parties agreed to terminate the 64-year-olds contract.
A week later, Baxter announced that he will not take a sabbatical and will dive straight back into a job.
“I wasn’t planning to dive straight back in to work but thought that a one-year contract allows me to work and also decide what the next step for me will be,” said Baxter.
The very next day Genclerbirligi president, Ilhan Cavcav, has now confirmed that Baxter has inked a deal with the club.
"For a month I have spoken to various people about the coach and we have now concluded our contract with Baxter.”
According to KickOff, Masango will be allowed to join any team of his choice when his contract expires at the end of June.
Baxter was the one to give the 25-year-old his break into the Chiefs first team and the winger flourished.
Masango proved to be beneficial to Amakhosi's course and they club went on to win the MTN8 and Premiership title.
Meanwhile, Chiefs are looking set to patch things up with Masango and Khune which could lead to the players remaining at Naturena.
