Sport24 reported that Baxter wished Kaizer Chiefs well for the 2015/16 season and admitted that he plans on diving straight back into a job.

The 64-year-old and his agent, Steve Kapeluschnik, were in advanced negotiations with Genclerbirligi.

The clubs president, Ilhan Cavcav, has now confirmed that Baxter has inked a deal with the club and is set to mentor the team in the upcoming season.

"For a month I have spoken to various people about the coach and we have now concluded our contract with Baxter,” he said as quoted by KickOff.

"The agreement that we have reached today needs the approval of the board of directors and I have submitted it to them."

The club concluded the season with a 9th place finish in the league.

Genclerbirligi had previous connections with Chiefs in the past.

The late John 'Shoes' Moshoeu donned the colours of the Super Lig club between 1993-1995.
