Mane scored three times in Liverpool's three August fixtures, netting twice against West Ham United and once against Crystal Palace.
The Senegalese hit-man has also got September off to a flying start, scoring against Leicester City in the Reds' 2-1 victory.
Mane beat Cardiff City's Neil Etheridge and Watford's Roberto Pereyra to the award, as well as Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Lucas Moura (Tottenham Hotspur) and Benjamin Mendy (Manchester City).
The 26-year-old has impressed since his move to Anfield from Southampton two years ago, but he was overshadowed somewhat by the form of Mohamed Salah last season.
This season, however, the versatile attacker appears to be at his lethal best
