Shabba, wearing jersey number 33 was introduced in the 73rd minute to warm applause from the home fans at the Kazim Karabekir Stadium as his side suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Istanbul Basaksehir.

The 33-year-old's move has been widely heralded in Turkey after fans swarmed to welcome him on his arrival with his new club announcing that it had gained 1350 followers in 24 hours since his transfer.

Erzurumspor find themselves currently bottom of the 18-team Turkish Super Lig with one point after four rounds of fixtures.

Tshabalala signed a two year deal with an option for another year with the club who last year won promotion to Turkey's top-flight via the play-offs after finishing fifth in the second division last year.
