Baxter: We're ready for Bucs

Johannesburg - Kaizer Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter says he is very much aware of what to expect as far as playing a high profile game such as against their Soweto arch-rivals, Orlando Pirates, is concerned.

The Amakhosi mentor confirmed as much to the Soccer Laduma website after the two PSL giants were drawn against each other in the two-leg MTN8 semi-finals.

"We know what to expect in such games,” explained Baxter.

“It is a high profile semi-final that both teams take seriously.

“We have to go out there and make sure that the supporters enjoy the game more than ourselves.

“It is a good draw and it is always fair in such cases. We are ready for the game.”

The Phefeni glamour boys advanced to the last four after thrashing the University of Pretoria 3-0 at the FNB Stadium last Saturday, courtesy of wonderful strikes from Tefu Mashamaite, Mulomowandau Mathoho and Simphiwe Tshabalala.

Meanwhile, the Happy People had to settle for the spot-kicks in order to get past SuperSport United on Sunday at the Mbombela Stadium after a 2-all draw after extra-time.

Lennox Bacela was on target on both occasions for the Buccaneers with Thabo Matlaba scoring an own goal and Mogogi Gabonamong grabbing a goal for United.

The first leg is scheduled for August 21 at the FNB Stadium.
