Johannesburg - Former Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane is "seeking to meet" with the SA Football Association (SAFA) to find an amicable solution following his dismissal, his lawyer said on Thursday.
"The labour process was started with SAFA on Monday and accordingly Mr Mosimane is seeking to meet with SAFA in an attempt to resolve the issues," Rod Harper, of Cowan Harper Attorneys, said in a statement.
Harper said he could confirm that Mosimane was "exercising his right to fair labour practices in terms of the Constitution and the Labour Relations Act".
"It is our client's wish that the issue be resolved as amicably and speedily as possible in the best interests of football. Until that time he will not be in a position to comment directly on any of the issues being highlighted," said Harper.
SAFA dismissed Mosimane as national team coach on Tuesday after their 1-1 draw against lowly Ethiopia in Rustenburg on Sunday.
"Both parties [Mosimane and SAFA] agreed to part ways amicably in the best interests of both the country and the national team," SAFA said in a statement.
The result against Ethiopia gave Bafana a seven-game winless streak.
"Drawing in the last 15 minutes of the game [against Ethiopia] made us realise we had to act now," SAFA said.
Mosimane on Wednesday threatened a lawsuit against SAFA for unfair and unlawful dismissal.
