Triple injury blow for Lions

Johannesburg - The Lions medical staff on Monday released an injury update following their 41-13 Super Rugby loss to the Waratahs in Sydney.

As it happened: Waratahs v Lions

According to the Lions' official website, utility backs Lionel Mapoe (knee), Courtnall Skosan (hamstring) and forward Derick Minnie (concussion) have returned to South Africa. They will undergo further scans and tests upon their arrival.

Coenie van Wyk and Alwyn Hollenbach will depart for Perth on Monday night in order to provide cover.

The Lions, who on Sunday lost 41-13 to the Waratahs, conclude their overseas tour with a match against the Western Force in Perth this Saturday (kick-off 11:40 SA time).
