Els carded a final round 65 to finish at 12-under for a share of third, two shots behind eventual winner Gaganjeet Bhullar of India.
"I'm pleased with my round and pleased with the tournament and it's been a lot of fun, really a lot of fun in Fiji," said Els after his final round.
"I did almost as much as I could. I set out to try to shoot 65, which I did... It was really a great day. I think people on television, spectators out there, they would have had a great thrill because there's some really great golf being played. Conditions weren't that easy."

The 48-year-old struggled to gain his form of the early 2000s with his last win coming in 2013 on the European Tour at the BMW International Open in Germany.
Els' last top 10 finish - prior to this weekend - came at the PGA Tour's Quicken Loans at Congressional Country Club in June 2016, where he finished fifth.
Els, who is the captain of the International team for next year's President Cup, has won 28 European Tour titles and 19 PGA Tour titles in his career.
