6 South African golfers in European Tour finale

Cape Town - There will be six South African golfers in the 60-man field at the European Tour's final event of the season, the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

Brandon Stone is the top-ranked South African in the Race of Dubai standings at 23rd after winning a Rolex Series event, the Scottish Open in July.

Branden Grace, who is ranked 36th in the Race to Dubai rankings, will be hoping to impress after his T11 finish in defence of his Nedbank Golf Challenge title this past weekend - which saw Lee Westwood break his four-year trophy drought.

Last year Dylan Frittelli (38th) finished tied for third at the Jumeirah Golf Estates and will be hoping to end his season on a similar, if not better, note.

Erik van Rooyen, ranked 37th in the standings, will make his debut in Dubai this week in his rookie season on the European Tour.

Meanwhile, Dean Burmester (56th) and Darren Fichardt (58th) have also played their way into the final event of the season after a good week at Sun City.

Truth told, none of the South Africans have much chance of topping the final Race to Dubai rankings.

Ryder Cup team-mates, England's Tommy Fleetwood and Italian Francesco Molinari will go toe-to-toe in the battle to be crowned European No 1, with 1 025 166 points separating the duo in the standings.
