Manchester - Proteas speedster Dale Steyn will play in the first ever Euro T20 Slam, tournament organisers have confirmed.
The tournament, which will start on August 30, will see two franchises each from Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands do battle as the T20 circuit adds another potentially lucrative stop.
Steyn, who joins as a marquee player, will play alongside or against Proteas team-mates Imran Tahir and JP Duminy, who have also signed.
Other big-name players include Shahid Afridi, Chris Lynn, Shane Watson, Babar Azam, Brendon McCullum, Eoin Morgan, Rashid Khan and Luke Ronchi.
Steyn is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury which saw him ruled out of the Proteas' Cricket World Cup squad just three games into the tournament.
At 36, doubt remains over his international future.
"I'm very excited about the Euro T20 Slam," Steyn said on the tournament's Twitter channel.
"I can't wait to get over there and get things going and I look forward to seeing you guys all out there."
