Steve Komphela's best qualities – his linguistic abilities and prowess as a good motivator – were on full display at Orlando Stadium after Golden Arrows' humiliating 7-1 drubbing, and will continue to come to the fore as he picks up the pieces of Abafana Bes'thende.
The Durban side was given their heaviest defeat by Orlando Pirates on Saturday evening, adding to their woes in a season where Arrows have lost nine successive matches in the DStv Premiership.
Those defeats led to the club roping in Komphela. He returned for his second spell to inspire Arrows out of their slump, and bring experience to a technical team that had been led by Mabhuti Khenyeza.
