Cape Town - Polokwane City have officially unveiled Clinton Larsen as head coach to replace the sacked Zlatko Krmpotic.
Rise and Shine removed Krmpotic after a poor start to the season in which they won just four of their opening 12 games.
They currently sit 13th in the 16-team Absa Premiership standings and are just a single point above the relegation places.
Larsen joins following nearly three months out of the game after he was sacked by Chippa United. He had previously also enjoyed a successful stint at Golden Arrows.
The 48-year-old will not have much time to prepare his side for their clash against Maritzburg United on Sunday.
"I joined them on Thursday," Larsen said.
"I had time away (from coaching) to spend some time with my family. As coaches, we don't have enough time to be with our families. I am refreshed and ready to go again since leaving Chippa two months ago."
He indicated he had been in negotiations with Polokwane City for weeks to give him time to watch the team play a couple of times and assess the players before agreeing to sign on.
It is a strong signal that Larsen is confident he can turn things around at Rise and Shine and a point of view fans should take a lot of confidence from.
