Abednego Mosiatlhaga says it would give him "sleepless nights" to be crowned GladAfrica Championship top goalscorer but miss out on promotion.
Ajax Cape Town entered the enforced break as a result of the coronavirus on top of the league standings with six games to play.
Assuming the campaign is able to resume, the Urban Warriors will need to fend off the challenge of second-placed Swallows FC, who are seven points behind, as well as Uthongathi FC in third and fourth-placed Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
Mosiatlhaga currently leads the goalscoring charts for the first division, but won't let the prospect of a golden boot distract him from the main prize.
He told KickOff: "It's something that is not far away from me but I wouldn't say it's my golden objective, my objective right now is winning the league.
"I don't think I would be happy if I won the Golden Boot and lost the league. That to me would be a loss, so it doesn't give me sleepless nights."
Mosiatlhaga has scored 16 goals this season and paid tribute to former Ajax boss Andries Ulderink for his form.
"Not to say I wasn't focused last season or the season before, but according to the way I played last season I think performance-wise I was happy with myself except the fact that I wasn't converting as much as I should have," he explained.
"So when I came to Ajax I was with coach Andries. We spent a lot of time on what I should do, what is expected of me and I think it just paid off with me having to put in a lot more hard work than I used to do before."
