Cape Town - Attacker Jeffrey Schlupp proved the match winner for 10-man Crystal Palace on Tuesday as they clinched a narrow 1-0 Premier League victory over Bournemouth at Selhurst Park.
Palace were reduced to ten men in as early as the 19th minute after defender Mamadou Sakho was shown a red card for a recklessly high tackle.
Despite the numerical advantage Bournemouth failed to make the hosts pay and it was Roy Hodgson's side who looked the better side throughout.
Substitute Schlupp grabbed the all-important winner in the 76th minute to send Palace to fifth in the standings on 21 points.
Bournemouth have now lost four consecutive games and sit 12th in the standings on 16 points.
