In his latest Rucking with Rob newsletter, Rob Houwing sees no reason why Eben Etzebeth can't remain a Bok presence until the 2027 Rugby World Cup.

Rassie Erasmus has cast some doubt: the Springbok master-brain publicly signalled at the weekend that Eben Etzebeth, special athlete though he is, might not have another full World Cup cycle left in his rugby tank.

His views are naturally worth noting. Maybe the director of rugby knows something about the now 32-year-old enforcer's plans (his birthday was a few days ago) that the rest of us don't.
