South Africa is still reeling off the high of Dricus 'Stillknocks' du Plessis winning the UFC Middleweight championship at UFC 297 this past weekend in Canada.

Facing off against the USA's Sean Strickland, Du Plessis entered his first five-round fight and first UFC championship bout, coming out victorious in what was described as a brutal brawl.

And with UFC 300 scheduled to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on 13 April 2024, talks are picking up that the promotion is revisiting the idea of staging an event in Africa, with the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), in the process, fulfilling a longtime dream.
