Cape Town - Tickets for the 1 Day Cup final between the Cape Cobras and the Warriors are selling fast, as the Newlands fans prepare for a colossal showdown which will feature big Proteas names.

The match is certain to be a sell-out as there are just over 4 000 tickets left on sale and there has been a mad rush since Monday, with more than 5 000 tickets sold in two days.

“The Newlands public have been very supportive of the Cobras over the years and we can see from the current support that nothing has changed,” said Jasmiena Davids, Cape Cobras’ Marketing Manager.

“We are expecting a full-house for Friday, it is not every day that the average spectator gets to watch a host of Proteas in action for the price of a domestic ticket.”

The Cape Cobras won both their matches against the Warriors during the round-robin phase but that will count for nothing as the Warriors head into the final with the winning momentum and confidence.

Shaun George and Adrian Holdstock will be the standing umpires, with Murray Brown on television duties and Earl Hendrikse officiating as the fourth umpire. The match will be refereed by Devdas Govindjee.

In the event of Friday’s final being washed out, Saturday December 10 will be used as a reserve day and the match will be a day match.
