Cape Town - The Cobras could leave new Proteas Test sensation Vernon Philander out of their side for the 1 Day Cup final against the Warriors at Newlands on Friday.

Philander was given a breather in the Cape side's last couple of games after his heroics in the recent Test series against Australia, but is available to play in the one-day final.

However, Die Burger newspaper reports it could be tough for the seamer find a spot in the team. Dale Steyn, Charl Langeveldt and Rory Kleinveldt were the Cobras' seam bowlers in their clash against the Dolphins last Wednesday, when they thumped the KwaZulu-Natalians by eight wickets.

Kleinveldt seems likely to make way for captain Justin Kemp, who missed the Dolphins clash due to an ear infection. Steyn and Langeveldt will probably be the seamers together with Kemp and Jacques Kallis.

Philander and Langeveldt therefore have to fight for one spot and Langeveldt is considered to be the better one-day bowler.

Meanwhile, the Warriors are expected to pick young spinner Simon Harmer in place of the injured Nicky Bojé. The 22-year-old Harmer is a right handed off-spin bowler and also a decent batsman.
