The Siya crew has been reliably informed that Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs, have made contact with Mamelodi Sundowns’ Manqoba Mngqithi, but indications are that Amakhosi will appoint a foreign coach ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Chiefs are guaranteed to bring in a new man to sit in arguably the hottest seat in South African football, with interim coach Cavin Johnson set to return to his initial role as head of academy, with the club not interested in appointing him as head coach on a permanent basis.

Amakhosi have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to identify their next coach and while they have shown an interest in Sundowns senior coach Mngqithi, the Siya crew understands that management at Naturena are more in favour of appointing a foreign coach, with Nasreddine Nabi and Raul Caneda said to be top of the list in terms of options for the club.
