Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has commented on his future after the club were eliminated from the CAF Champions League.

The Brazilians bowed out of Africa's premier club competition after losing 1-0 in the second leg and 2-0 aggregate.

Sundowns have now stumbled at the semi-final stage for the second season in a row.

Mokwena, however, says he wants stay at the club but insists results are important.

"I don't run the football club, do I? I'm here because of the results and if the results are not good enough, I won't be here," Mokwena told SABC Sport.

"So I wanna be here, I love this club. I love the supporters of this club, I love this incredible group of players.

"I wanna be here. But as you rightfully say, it's a result-oriented business and that's where we are," he added.

When asked how Sundowns can get overcome their Champions LEague struggles, Mokwena replied, "So you just have to keep going, you'll get better with experience and you could see, they suffer well, they take their time. Okay, people will praise their effort, 'tactical master-class' but I think we were tactically superior. I thought defensively we were good. Offensively we were good," he said.

"That's football. Football is limited chances and that's what we did, except for one there where we went to sleep and then you create more chances at the end and we could have played for another 90 minutes today, we wouldn't have scored.

"We had so many chances, incredible volume around the box and I thought we were tactically very good. So I've got to applaud the players and thank them for their effort and thank them for representing this club very well."
