The end of the dream

Cape Town - Germany ended the hopes and dreams of 200 million Brazilians as they romped to a stunning 7-1 win over the hosts.

The result that was felt around the world.

As it happened: Brazil v Germany

The action on the field left commentators and fans stunned while journalists were scrambling for words to aptly describe the humiliating defeat suffered by the Brazilians in Belo Horizonte on Tuesday evening.

Spare a thought for the fans of the Selecao, who's hopes were spectacularly crushed by the Mannschaft.

All that is left for Brazil is to play the worst fixture in world sport, the third/fourth playoff on Saturday evening.
