Cape Town - Polokwane City have entrusted Bernard Molekwa with the duties of head coach ahead of the new Premiership campaign after his successful caretaker stint.
Following the acrimonious departure of Belgian manager Luc Eymael, Molekwa was handed the reigns to steer the league's surprise package until the end of the campaign.
Rise and Shine continued their impressive early-season form to finish in their highest ever finish with sixth place secured, thus qualifying for the lucrative MTN8 competition.
Molekwa won five of the final ten fixtures he oversaw as head coach and maintained the club's ethos of playing an entertaining and attacking brand of football.
Polokwane official Tincy Tema confirmed the news of the appointment with local publication KickOff website; "He has now been appointed as the head coach and not acting."
Molekwa becomes the 11th local manager in the South African top-flight out of sixteen professional club's.
