Maritzburg ended 2014 on a low note when they were beaten 2-1 by Polokwane City.

The KwaZulu-Natal team will be looking to improve on a home record which has seen them claim 13 points from nine matches.

Their next three league opponents are Chippa United (away), Free State Stars (home) and University of Pretoria (away).

The Team of Choice is placed seventh on the PSL log with 22 points from 17 matches.

Wits ended 2014 with a goalless draw against University of Pretoria, extending their unbeaten run to five matches.

The Johannesburg side has claimed 21 points from nine away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Moroka Swallows (away), Mamelodi Sundowns and Bloemfontein Celtic (both home).

The Clever Boys are placed third on the standings with 31 points from 18 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Maritzburg and Wits have met in 15 league matches since 2006/07.

The Clever Boys have claimed six wins compared to three for the Team of Choice, while six matches have been drawn.

Maritzburg have won just one of the seven home matches they have played against Wits.

When the teams met earlier this season in Johannesburg, the Clever Boys won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Ngcobo.

Kick-off is at 19:30 on Tuesday, February 10.
