The Dube Birds find themselves languishing dangerously close to the relegation zone after winning just four of their opening 12 Premiership matches this term, leaving them just two points clear of the bottom two heading into the hectic festive period.

Fani Madida's men had, however, secured victory in their most recently Premiership outing, scoring two late goals to secure a 2-1 win at Maritzburg United last week, bringing to an end a run of seven matches without a win.

However, Swallows next come up against an Ajax side with PSL title aspirations this term, with the Urban Warriors currently second in the top-flight standings after winning six, drawing three and losing three of their 12 matches.

And, with a nine-point gap between themselves and leaders Kaizer Chiefs, the focus this week will undoubtedly be on nothing less than securing all three points.

In team news, the Birds are suspension free for the encounter, while the Soweto giants also reported no fresh injuries, given interim boss Madida a virtually fully fit squad to choose from.

Ajax, meanwhile, are without the suspended Abbubaker Mobara, while Franklin Cale and Tashreeq Morris are each one booking away from also picking up match bans.
