The defender has a minor knock and faces a late fitness test ahead of the clash at the Cape Town Stadium.
Fellow centre-back Dominic Isaacs is definitely out with a hamstring injury, while Keagan Dolly will not play again this year as he has a broken toe.
Midfielder Travis Graham is also suspended for the Urban Warriors, but the Bafana Bafana starlet Rivaldo Coetzee is expected to feature after returning from international duty fresh - the teenager did not play against Nigeria during South Africa's AFCON qualifier midweek.
Ajax are currently third on the table, ahead of the fourth-placed Team of Choice by a single point.
The team from KwaZulu-Natal have only one injury concern, on-loan Mamelodi Sundowns defender Sibusiso Kumalo due to a on-going knee injury.
Maritzburg have never beaten Ajax in Cape Town in eight previous visits and coach Steve Komphela is expecting another tough assignment against Roder de Sa's charges on Saturday.
"They have a clever coach who believes in young talent," Komphela said of Ajax. "They are a highly technical team. They have good players all over the park and they are a side that can give you problems on any given day."
Kick-off is at 20:15.
