Ajax to duel Maritzburg for points

Cape Town - Ajax Cape Town will look to return to winning form in the Absa Premiership when they host Maritzburg United at Cape Town Stadium.

Ajax suffered their third league defeat in their last outing when they were beaten 3-0 away at University of Pretoria.

The Cape Town side has claimed 12 points from their five home matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Bloemfontein Celtic (home), Moroka Swallows (away) and SuperSport United (home).

Roger de Sa's side are placed third on the Absa Premiership log with 17 points from 10 matches.

Maritzburg played to their fourth draw of the season when they were held 0-0 by Bloemfontein Celtic in their last outing.

The KwaZulu-Natal team has claimed five points from as many away matches this season.

Their next three league opponents are Moroka Swallows (home), Orlando Pirates (away) and University of Pretoria (home).

The Team of Choice is placed fourth on the Absa Premiership log with 16 points from 10 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Ajax and Maritzburg have met in 16 league matches since 2005/06.

The Urban Warriors have six wins compared to five for the Team of Choice, while five matches have been drawn.

Ajax are unbeaten in home matches against United, with four wins and four draws from eight matches.

Last season the Cape Town side won their home match 3-1, while the Pietermaritzburg club won the return game 2-0.

Kick-off is at 20:15 on Saturday, November 22.
