According to Soccer Laduma, Masilela was on the verge of being called-up to the Bafana Bafana AFCON squad following the injury to Sibusiso Khumalo.

However, the 29-year-old suffered a heel injury which has kept him sidelines for up to three weeks.

Reports reveal that the left-back played a part in Amakhosi’s friendly games over the past weekend in Cape Town where Chiefs were based for camp.

Masilela is now set to face Bloemfontein Celtic in The Glamour Boys’ first PSL encounter of the year when they travel to the Free State.

The match will be hosted at Free State Stadium on Wednesday, February 11.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
