Manqele speechless after Chiefs move

Cape Town - Chippa Unted striker Edward Manqele says he was left speechless after signing a three-year deal with Kaizer Chiefs.

Sport24 reported on Friday that Manqele had joined Chiefs from Chippa United, and Manqele said that he always told himself he would play for Chiefs.

“I am speechless,” Manqele told the Kaizer Chiefs website.

“I am happy to be here and looking forward to make a contribution.

“Things didn’t work out at (Mamelodi) Sundowns.

“I was loaned to Moroka Swallows where I did well. I ended up signing for Chippa United.

“I am happy to be here and will give my best to the team.

Manqele will be re-united with coach Steve Komphela who brought him into the Free State Stars team originally, and it was where Manqele was in his best form.

"I worked with coach Komphela before. I did wonders under him,” Manqele continued.

“The coach knows me very well and I am happy to be reunited with him.

Manqele almost joined Chiefs from Free Stars Stars two seasons before joining Sundowns.

“I was disappointed when I didn’t join Amakhosi earlier, but I told myself that one day I will play for Chiefs,” Manqele said
