The lanky striker said he is confident of remaining on the books of the Students ahead of the 2015/16 season.

“There is not much to say at this stage than to say we have been in talks over renewing my contract,” Botes said.

“I’m confident of staying at Wits and playing in the PSL again next season.”

Wits have already parted ways with Chris Katongo, Sandile Zuke and veteran goalkeeper, Rowen Fernandez while Daine Klate has been signed.

The 35-year-old striker played 28 matches in total for Wits during the 2014/15 season scoring 4 times in the league and another two in the Telkom Knockout.
