    Free kick to United as Alli fouls Herrera on the far right-hand side. Mkhitaryan is over it. Vertonghen takes the sting out and clears the ball. Good pressure from United at the start of the second half.

    Pogba had a good first half and this time he sets up another chance as he cross the ball into a dangerous position. Unluckily for United, the ball goes past the heads of Ibrahimovic and Martial and is cleared to safety.

    HALF TIME: MANCHESTER UNITED 1-0 TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR. Mkhitaryan becomes the first Armenian to score a goal in the League and United have a one-goal lead after the first half. They deserve to be ahead after an attacking and exciting 45 minutes.

    Consecutive corner for Tottenham and Wanyama goes down in the box after a challenge from Rojo. Appeals for penalty but the referee waves play on.

    Another attack from United as Pogba finds Zlatan again but this time Spurs defence manages to block and clear the ball quickly. Five minutes to go to the break.

    Free kick to Tottenham on the right flank after Herrera fouls Eriksen. The United midfielder is not best pleased about it, and has a talking to from Bobby Madley.

    Another chance for United as Ibrahimovic gets the ball and looks to score but Lloris makes another save. Good work by the keeper but the hosts are piling on the pressure on the Spurs.

    YELLOW CARD! Antonio Valencia is booked for a challenge on Danny Rose. First booking of the game. He will now miss United's next game against Crystal Palace after picking up five cards for the season so far.

    GOAL, MANCHESTER UNITED, MKHITARYAN! 1-0: Mkhitaryan scores after United dominating this passage of play and this is the first Premier League goal for Mkhitaryan. Herrera takes the ball from Kane, and dissects Wanyama and Vertonghen feeding the ball through to Mkhitaryan who scores for United.

    Manchester United look dangerous when they break and they do so again. Alderweireld clears a cross at the top of the box and it falls to Michael Carrick who goes for goal - but it just whistles over.

    A few chances! Carrick with a brilliant ball over the top and Herrera takes it deep in the box and then pulls it back for Mkhitaryan. Mkhitaryan shoots a fast ball towards goal but Vertonghen gets a foot to it and it goes for a corner. Another chance as Herrera catches the rebound from the corner and tries to drill it towards goal but Lloris makes a good save to deny United.

    Free kick to Manchester United now as Vertonghen just catches Herrera with his boot. It's around 50 yards out on the right which has Herrera standing over it. Good work from the Spurs defence here.

    Eriksen takes the kick and David de Gea makes a great save as he stops the ball going towards the bottom corner of the goal. First real test for De Gea today.

    Herrera and Kane fight for the ball in the middle as Spurs get a free kick.

    Free kick Spurs as Pogba fouls Victor Wanyama. Eriksen over it with Wanyama in support. Both sides attacking and both sides defending well, this is becoming an interesting contest.

    Good run from Alli as he pushes forward and passes the ball to Alderweireld. Alderweireld makes some space for himself and tries to shoot the ball but sprays it just wide of the goal. Exciting opening minutes of the first half.

    Kane slides in Heung-Min Son down the left hand side as Spurs try to attack. Dele Alli is on his right-hand side and is screaming for the ball, but Son goes it alone.

    Mkhitaryan is busy in the opening minutes as he tries to set up another move towards Zlatan but Vertonghen is there to block and clear the ball.

    Almost a great start for United as Henrikh Mkhitaryan shows great control in the midfield to start the move. Ibrahimovic gets the ball and goes for goal but Lloris is there to make the save. Almost an opening goal for United.
