SA duo to join Jake White in Japan

Cape Town - Bulls lock Jason Jenkins and Southern Kings flyhalf Lionel Cronje will reportedly join Japanese club Toyota Verblitz.

There they will join up with former Springbok coach Jake White, who will become the head coach of Toyota Verblitz after finishing his duties with Montpellier in France.

According to supersport.com, Jenkins’ stint in Japan will see him miss the Currie Cup season, but return to play Super Rugby for the Bulls.

White, who lured several South African players during his tenure in charge at Montpellier, looks likely to do the same at his new club, with the Kings pivot also set to join Verblitz.

Jenkins follows his team-mate RG Snyman, who will also take up a contract in Japan for Honda Heat during the Currie Cup season, before returning to South Africa for Super Rugby.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that Bulls flyhalf Francois Brummer had signed for Toyota Industries Shuttles (Toyota Jido Shokki) in the Japanese league.
