Not the best note for Allister Coetzee to finish as Stormers coach, but perhaps this was the right thing for the union - as the Stormers' game plan has been proven to fail, especially in big games when it really matters. A change in approach is needed by whoever comes in to coach the team next season.
20 Jun 18:59
The Super Rugby semi-finals have now been confirmed, with the Waratahs to face the Highlanders and the Hurricanes to host the Brumbies.
20 Jun 18:57

A terrible performance from the Stormers. They simply fail to pitch - as is so often the case in knockout games when it really matters. A lack of composure and poor execution of skills!

Give credit to the Brumbies though, who outsmarted their opponents. They were simply better in all departments tonight!

  • 80'

Lealiifano cannot convert at the hooter goes followed by the final whistle.

  • 80'

The Brumbies have come to Newlands and dominated the home side in most aspects of the game. The Stormers didn''''t offer much on attack while the Brumbies took every chance that came their way today, scoring four tries by half-time. Tomane managed three of those. The Stormers were slightly better in the second half but their lineout remained pitiful, like it has for much of the season. Their attacking play was also extremely static and very predictable. Despite the Brumbies been reduced to 13 men for the final 5 minutes of the game, the Stormers had nothing left. The Brumbies however, managed to put the final nail in the coffin as Mogg got over as the hooter sounded.

  • 80'

  • 31'

Far better from the home side as de Allende kicks the ball downfield with Senatla showing some gas as he goes around a few Brumbies players. The winger attempts to dink the ball over the line but he has overcooked it and it flies over the dead ball line.

The side will now be led by Juan de Jongh. Nic Groom, Demetri Catrakilis, Damian de Allende, Cheslin Kolbe, Dillyn Leyds and Seabelo Senatla all return in the back division. Nizaam Carr is the only surviving member from the loss to the Sharks in Durban. The rest of the pack all make their return after last week?s rest. A late fitness call will be made on the availability of Schalk Burger. He suffered a slight groin injury in practice during the week.

  • 0'

Despite going down to the Crusaders at home last week, the Brumbies have made no changes to their team for tonight's fixture.

  • 0'

  • 0'

The two teams have met on 17 occasions with the Stormers only winning 5 matches. The Brumbies have won 11 with one match drawn. The average score in this fixture is Stormers 19 Brumbies 23.
