52' - HEROIC BY JANTJIES
Jordan Taufua looks certain to score but Jantjies holds him up!
That's preposterous. Carded for being kuk! Embarrassing enough to get popped, but to get carded for it is ridiculous— Front Row Grunt (@FrontRowGrunt) March 14, 2015
That's preposterous. Carded for being kuk! Embarrassing enough to get popped, but to get carded for it is ridiculous
51' - Carter's penalty HITS THE POST and the Lions fail to secure the ball, knocking it on and it's a scrum
Not ideal for the man-short Lions
50' - YELLOW FOR THE LIONS

The Lions scrum had ben far, far better in the second half, but after being warned 30 odd minutes ago, referee shoes Julian Redelinghuys a card

The current side not a shadow of the side on ages ago when they would've been out of sight by now

Owen Franks leaves the field, replaced by Nepo Laulala
46' - OVER!
Tremendous kick by Jantjies as he lands the penalty into the wind

Hey Hey. Welcome back Lions. Starting with a revitalized scrum. Like they did against the Blues last week!
45' - Penalty to the Lions as the Crusaders are pinged for a side entry at the ruck
The Lions will indeed have a chance to be the first team to put points on the board in the second half through Elton Jantjies...
40' - HALF-TIME
Crusaders 13-3 as we head for the sheds
Join us in 15 minutes!

Carter's pass to McCaw misses its target and goes into touch - as the half-time siren sounds

Referee having a stern word with Lions skipper Warren Whiteley

And there's the change
McNicholl off, Kieron Fonotia on

Not looking good for the Crusaders' wing as McNicholl goes down again
They need to get him off

Jantjies puts up the first points of the match for the visitors
How does the touch judge - now preferring the title of assistance ref - miss something so obvious from McCaw? That's pathetic— Front Row Grunt (@FrontRowGrunt) March 14, 2015
How does the touch judge - now preferring the title of assistance ref - miss something so obvious from McCaw? That's pathetic
24' - PENALTY TO THE CRUSADERS
Carter converts a somewhat debatable penalty after McCaw looks to be off his feet when turning over the ball
Penalty Crusaders! That sums up the game really, another penalty against the Lions at scrum time and Carter boots the ball out to confirm the win. A bonus-point win then for the home side who ground down their spirited opponents, the yellow card and those two quick tries in three minutes settling the contest.
CRUSADERS 34-6 LIONS
Chance of a consolation score for the Lions? Driving their way up in the Crusaders 22 before the home side knocks on, giving the Lions a final scrum. Van der Merwe has impressed from the bench so far.
CONVERSION, CRUSADERS, CARTER! 34-6: The All Black takes his tally to 14 points.
TRY, CRUSADERS, READ! 32-6: Loose passing from the Lions in their own 22 and Read pounces for the interception score! Too easy to read that one and the number eight is in for the bonus point try.

Crusaders with the lineout outside the Lions 22. Nadolo charging up the touchline and he thinks he's scored, but his foot touched the whitewash. Lions lineout.

TRY, CRUSADERS, FONOTIA! 25-6: Huge break from Nadolo! Bursting up the left and forcing the Lions into desperate defence. So much space now on the other side and the ball goes through the hands to Fonotia, who busts through two tacklers to score! Game over.
CONVERSION, CRUSADERS, CARTER! 20-6: Easy two and the Lions have a long way back now.
PENALTY TRY, CRUSADERS! 18-6: You could have put your house on that one. Crusaders driving forward, ball controlled at the base by Read, too much momentum and the referee runs towards the sticks.

Short catch and drive from the Crusaders before Kriel gets in there for the steal. Back come the hosts, flinging it wide before Fonotia's pass flies straight out into touch. Won by the Lions who kick to the stands and that'll be half-time - the Lions down by ten but not out of this one yet as the Crusaders struggle to find top gear.

Possession turned over by the Lions who clear thanks to Cronje, their defence working very well at the moment as Coetzee stops the next wave by winning a breakdown penalty. Resilient stuff.
Lions with a scrum 40 metres out but it's more bad news for Redlinghuys, this time penalised for coming in on the angle. Crusaders kick up to the 22.
McNicholl makes way, replaced by Fonotia.
Clever low restart from Carter wins the ball back for the Crusaders, McNicholl down again. Over into the Lions 22 but that's good work from the visitors isolating the attacker and winning the penalty.
PENALTY, LIONS, JANTJIES! 13-3: Whitelock penalised immediately from the restart to give Jantjies his first chance of some points. Tricky kick with this wind for a left footer but he curls it in beautifully. Some justice for the visitors after that lucky penalty beforehand. Still behind by ten.
PENALTY, CRUSADERS, CARTER! 13-0: Big lead now for the home side as the Lions look to get into the game.
Worrying signs for McNicholl, who is down with a possible knee injury. He's up and about now trying to run it off.
Horrible lineout from the Lions and the Crusaders are on the charge, McNicholl nearly through with one man to beat! He tried to offload inside but it goes to a Lion and they manage to clear. Back though come the hosts, winning a lucky penalty as the Lions are pinged for hands in the ruck trying to latch onto McCaw's handling error. Carter looking at the posts.

Chance for the Lions to hit back, nice running from Vorster and Mapoe as they get up to the 22. Trying to go wide but just running out of space, a promising passage though. Crusaders win the lineout in their 22 and clear.
CONVERSION, CRUSADERS, CARTER! 7-0: Easy two for Carter on his return as the hosts take the lead.
TRY, CRUSADERS, ELLIS! 5-0: Great defence from the Lions, holding out Nadolo before the hosts get another scrum. Ellis is over! The scrum-half darts over by the sticks running onto to Read''s pass for the first try.
Muller makes a crucial lineout steal for the Lions but they're in real trouble here, a pass back from Jantjies to Coetzee hitting the post and the full-back is hounded in his in-goal area! What a chance for the Crusaders with this scrum five metres out...
Crusaders go wide but Crotty is thumped in the tackle, the ball going to ground. Play on and the Lions concede a penalty for not rolling away. Carter kicks deep to touch.
