Cheetah flying off to France

Cape Town - No 8 Philip van der Walt has become the latest Cheetahs player set to further his career in France.

According to the Volksblad website, the 24-year-old will join French club Biarritz after the conclusion of this year's Super Rugby competition.

This comes after the recent announcement that flyhalf Johan Goosen will play for French side Racing Metro.

Van der Walt will replace veteran French international Imanol Harinordoquy at Biarritz.

Biarritz, once a powerhouse of French rugby, were recently relegated from the French Top 14 and will play in the Pro D2 competition next season.
