Goosen off to Racing Metro

Cape Town - Springbok and Cheetahs flyhalf Johan Goosen is set to join French Top 14 side Racing Metro, according to reports in France.

The RMC Sport website reports that Goosen, 21, has signed a three-year deal with the Paris-based club.

This comes after Sport24 earlier reported that Racing were eager to secure the 21-year-old's services.

Racing are expected to officially announce the signing next Monday.

At Racing, Goosen will compete with Irish flyhalf Jonathan Sexton, who has played for the team since 2013.

Goosen's contract with the Cheetahs expires on October 31 this year which should see him play out the Currie Cup season before heading abroad.
