Queensland - Wallaby prop Benn Robinson has edged closer to making a miracle recovery in time for the Rugby World Cup in September.
The 42-Test loosehead was initially ruled out earlier this month after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in a training session on July 13.
However, according to The Australian website, the Waratahs prop has joined the Wallaby Test squad and undergone fitness testing on his injured knee.
Robinson reportedly spent 20 minutes in the gym and between 10 and 15 minutes running without any ill-effects.
The 27-year-old is regarded as one of the best props in world rugby and is the fifth-highest capped Test prop in Wallaby history.
Robinson is believed to have a slim chance of recovery and will be assessed again by the Wallabies staff after the weekend.
Australian coach Robbie Deans will name his 30-man squad for the World Cup on August 18.
