Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says the club are proud to promote players from within their youth ranks.
Malebogo Modise was recently handed a first team contract after starring in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge team over the past few seasons.
With the wealthy club often coming under fire for using their seemingly unlimited resources to buy players, Mosimane has defended Sundowns' player recruitment policy.
Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Mosimane said: "He (Modise) follows the path of Keletso (Makgalwa), Percy Tau, (Motjeka) Madisha, (Siphelele) Mkhulise, Abram (Ngcobo) the goalkeeper and Nico Lukhubeni at right-back. There is also Harold (Majadibodu), we can mention more.
"They are coming up – sometimes we get criticism because we buy players. It's like we are not promoting players. And these players that I have been talking about, one (Tau) is overseas. Some have even played in the CAF Champions League, so in that space we are doing very well.
"We can proudly say we are producing players from the youth, from our MDC."
