Kaizer Chiefs' interim coach, Cavin Johnson, sounded like an unconvincing marketer, rather than a highly-rated technician, when he gave assurances that Amakhosi would be better next season. 

The Soweto giants are having a season to forget as they hold up the top half of the log in a precarious eighth position, a spot they could easily lose with just two points separating them and 12th-placed AmaZulu.

In fact, Chiefs are closer to the bottom - just 10 points separate them from 15th-placed Richards Bay FC - than the top, where Mamelodi Sundowns are 29 points ahead, even though they have played two less games.
